Runs and Events

G’day AMC Members,

First I would like to thank Andy Lindsay for a spectacularly planned road run from beginning to end last Saturday in Wild Wonderful West Virginia! Weather was perfect. I think I can speak for all those in attendance that it ranked towards the top  as far as our local rides go. This could turn out to be an annual event.

Final reminder for Nicole and Glenn Lynch’s Covered Bridges Ride This Saturday. Who doesn’t like covered bridges! As of now the weather forecast looks great! The season is winding down so don’t miss what is sure to be a delightful opportunity.

When: Saturday September 3rd. Socializing and doughnuts at 9:00AM – Kickstands up at 10:00

Where: Glenn’s Garage 2854 State Rt 136 Bentleyville PA 15314. Note there is no residence here, just a garage, and the lot is gravel so use caution pulling in.

Trailer Parking: Yes Plenty.

Restroom on site

NOTES: Please, please, make sure you have a FULL TANK OF GAS on arrival!  We will be traveling a lot of country roads where gas stops are NOT an option. The closest gas station coming from the East (where a majority of the AMC members will be coming from) is the BP Station in Monongahela which is 6.6 miles from the meeting point. 200 Dry Run Rd Monongahela PA 15063

Route Description:

A ride through Peters Township, Finleyville, New Eagle, Monongahela, and Ringgold into Mingo Creek County Park.  We will stop at the Ebenezer Covered Bridge for a group  photo and a restroom break.  Then we will ride through Mingo Creek County Park and through the Henry Covered Bridge.  Then we will wind through remote, country roads (maybe passing a zebra along the way…yes, I said zebra) through Vanceville to the Leatherman Bridge then to our lunch stop at the Tradesmen’s Inn (in Scenery Hill) that has an unbelievable view from the back deck!

The first half of our journey from the meeting place to the lunch stop is approximately 50 miles and every bit a 2 hour drive; but remember, we have allowed for a stop half-way at the Ebenezer Covered Bridge to stretch the legs, have a restroom break, and take a group photo.

After lunch, we will travel scenic Route 40, scenic Route 136 (have a quick gas stop), and more country roads (through South Strabane, Eighty-four and Ginger Hill) until we end up back at Glenn’s garage on Route 136 where coolers of ice cold beer, soda, and water will be ready for everyone to enjoy.

The second half of our trip will be approximately 30 miles and will take approximately 45 minutes. The ride is approximately 80 miles total.  Please allow from 9:00 a.m. until approximately 4:00 p.m. for the event beginning to end.

Don’t forget….Full Tank of Petrol! Hope to see you there!

Ride Safe,

Peace,

Jason Zerbini
